A pH outside this range can impact the availability of essential nutrients such as calcium, magnesium and iron as well as the activity of soil microorganisms that help decompose organic matter and release nutrients.
When the soil pH is too low or too high these nutrients may become unavailable to the tree, leading to nutrient deficiencies and poor growth.
