How We Handle It

  1. Initial assessment & soil testing

    Our ISA Certified Arborist will visit your property to assess the condition of your trees and perform soil testing if necessary. This helps us identify any nutrient deficiencies, soil compaction, or other issues that may be affecting your trees.

  2. Custom root invigoration plan

    Based on the assessment, we develop a tailored root invigoration plan that addresses the specific needs of your trees. That may include air-spading to alleviate soil compaction or root pruning to remove damaged roots. Root collar excavation and fertilization injection are separate services, quoted separately, and plenty of trees only need one of them.

  3. Air-spading & soil amendment

    We use specialized equipment, such as an air-spade, to gently remove compacted soil from around the tree's root zone without damaging the roots. The backfill is the original native soil with biochar worked in as an amendment. Biochar amends soil, it does not replace it.

  4. Deep root fertilization

    Our deep root fertilization service involves injecting a custom-blended nutrient solution directly into the tree's root zone. Fertilizer goes in after the soil sample comes back, not before, so the blend matches what your soil is actually missing. This targeted approach ensures that the roots receive the essential nutrients they need to thrive, promoting strong growth and vibrant foliage.

The frequency of fertilization depends on the tree species, soil condition, and environmental factors. Generally, we recommend fertilizing trees once or twice a year, but our arborist will provide specific recommendations based on your tree's needs.
